Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, a medieval village in Chianti - owned by the Rocca delle Macìe Winery - has been meticulously restored and given a new lease of life as the ‘Relais Riserva di Fizzano’. The restoration was supervised by Fabio Zingarelli and Lucia Peretti of the "Archiquattro" Studio in Rome, who succeeded not only in making the most of the existing shells of the buildings, but also in ensuring that the farmhouses offer the guests the highest levels of hospitality so as they can relax in complete comfort.

Situated at the summit of a gently-sloping hill at an altitude of around 300 metres, the farmhouse complex consists of six buildings, including self-contained apartments, a cooking area, a restaurant and a small chapel.

Original tiled floors, vaulted wooden ceilings and large fireplaces are just some of the architectural features which can be found in the twenty apartments of the complex, all of which are decorated with understated elegance, using original materials, and full of rustic charm in keeping with the period from which they date. All of the apartments feature fully-fitted kitchens and an internal telephone system.

The discrete and efficient service of the staff guarantees the utmost levels comfort and privacy. At the Riserva diFizzano you can enjoy the holiday of a lifetime as you get to know first-hand the very area which was the cradle of Italian culture. A large swimming pool, mountain bikes and a meeting hall are all at your disposal. For the young ones there is a well-equipped play area and a special swimming pool exclusively for children.

There is even a restaurant inside the complex, offering authentic Tuscan cuisine, and a shop where you can sample and purchase products such as wine, extra-virgin olive oil, honey and grappa, all made by Rocca delle Macìe.

The Torrione farmhouse lies immersed in the verdant Tuscan countryside. It was built in the 14th-Century and renovated in the early 1970s. Surrounded by evocative Tuscan landscapes as far as the eye can see, the Torrione farmhouse is located at the centre of an immense vineyard which covers the entire hillside. Inside the walls of the complex, there are six comfortable apartments named after wines produced by Rocca delle Macìe, all decorated in an authentically rustic style, and each with its own unique characteristics. In the courtyard, an ancient oak tree gives some much-appreciated shade. The extensive, well-maintained garden stretches out from all sides of the property, and is perfect for lazing in the open air in complete seclusion. From the swimming pool there is a quite breathtaking view over the valley below.
