Energy and enthusiasm
remain the watchwords for Rocca delle Macìe's distribution
network, which has started out the new year in dramatic fashion
with the signing of an agreement with the Riccardo Fratus Winery,
a long-established name in Franciacorta (Lombardy), thus expanding
yet further the already large 'family' of producers whose wine
Rocca delle Macìe distributes.
Starting from January 2005, Rocca delle Macìe will handle
national and international distribution of the highly respected
Fratus, Franciacorta DOCG range from the Lombard winery.
The Riccardo Fratus Winery is located in what is undoubtedly
one of the most important regions in all of Italy in terms of
winemaking - Franciacorta. The winery itself dates from the 15th
century, and is today run by the Fratus family, with valuable
support from winemaker Cesare Ferrari and agronomist Pierluigi
Donna. Thanks to the completion of a painstaking restoration
of the winery buildings, to an overhaul of the vineyards and
cellars, and to the decision to take direct control of the entire
production process, Fratus now offers customers wines of exceptional
quality and finesse. Fratus Franciacorta Brut and Fratus Franciacorta
Saten are the two wines that will be distributed first of all
through the Rocca delle Macìe network, closely followed
by a vintage Franciacorta Brut Rosè Millesimato.
“
For some time now," states Sergio Zingarelli, Managing Director
of Rocca delle Macìe, “the commercial expansion
of our winery has included the distribution not just of our own
wines but also those of small Italian producers who are dedicated,
like us, to the terroir in which they operate and to the constant
search for ever-higher standards of quality. All of these producers
- Villa Vescovile in the Trentino region, La Serena and I Comunali
in Montalcino, Tuscany, Macchialupa and La Rivolta in Campania,
and the Consorzio Produttori Vini di Manduria in Puglia - are
now members of our family. The agreements with Riccardo Fratus
were signed in the same spirit of expansion and growth that has
characterized our relationships with the other small-scale wineries."
