Small pearls of sustainability

The bees are precious indicators of the state of health of the environment, have always cheered the estates of Rocca delle Macìe up with their presence.

First Italo, and now Sergio, have always supported them with the creation and care of the hives.
Today, there are 50 hives located in our four estates in the Chianti area, according to the different blooms or essences we want to find in the honey.

In the month of March, the “partial” honey extraction of ivy honey has been carried out, a honey removed from the hive but left in the frames and stored for the “lean” seasons, to feed the bees that can take advantage of it during periods of absence of flowers. Indeed, it is a honey without many qualitative characteristics but very appreciated by bees.
